NAO Project

Spearheaded the development of a Bluemix demonstration tool, which has since been the keynote presentation at conferences in Australia, Singapore, Vietnam and Portugal.

IBM has an extensive catalogue of technical business solutions, many of which leverage the Bluemix platform. Given the vast nature of these solutions, an emerging business challenge was how to best present these technical solutions to a client audience; catering for both technical and non-technical backgrounds.

This challenge was one which I took to combatting as part of my IBM journey. Utilizing the medium of a NAO robot, I presented the concept and MVP to the development team; Goal: To leverage a toolkit of Bluemix API’s in an interactive medium for client engagements.

Working across multiple Business Units, Teams, Countries and time zones, stakeholder management became a pillar of position. Achieving each milestone deadline, the project was in development for 4 months, after which it was ready to present. Upon presenting to the Sales Team, requests began to flow through from the sales team wanting to present directly to their clients. Accompanying numerous Sales Architects, I presented the demonstration to clients such as NBN, Myer, RACV and Woodside.

This tool was presented on an international stage after the success of its local application. The success was highlighted 6 months from the project start date when the tool received an invitation to be the Keynote presentation at the IBM Vietnam Grand Opening. Following this event, embarked on a tour to Singapore where I presented at The Smarter Technical Selling Academy; Changai, Singapore (conference).

The tool was commended for its ability to transcend the barrier between technical and non- technical audiences. Providing an interactive demonstration of IBM’s catalogue of services enabled clients to understand the potential, real-world applications, of these technical products.
